Day 11- We chill.

Ryan and I decided to take a day of rest. Probably not the greatest idea since we'll be out of town this weekend and won't get to workout again until Sunday evening. Regardless, there was no Insanity today!

I did some arm exercises with free weights and floor ab exercises on my own.

Ryan Food Log

B: raisin bran
L: buffalo turkey tacos
D: 2 bowls chicken carbonara, chianti

Callie Food Log

B: organic yogurt
S: clementine, almonds
L: soup/salad/sandwich at cafe express
S: doubletree cookie (RHETT is trying to sabotage my diet!)
D: very small portion of chicken carbonara from central market, one michelob ultra

Day 10- Sweat Makes Your Eyes Burn.

Yes, this is true. I never knew that before because I never sweat enough to have it drip into my eyeballs. Sick.

Moving on! Ryan and I did the Plyometric Cardio Circuit today, which isn't terrible until the last 15 minutes of it where you think you're going to die.

Ryan Food Log

B: orange
L: mini-pizza and tortellini
D: buffalo turkey tacos

Callie Food Log

B: organic lowfat yogurt
S: a bag of famous amos choc chip cookies (280 cals, eek)
L: pork roast, mashed taters and green beans (I took about 50 wrong turns trying to get to Subway so I settled on a Luby's style cafeteria and ate with the old folks)
S2: sugar-free rockstar
D: buffalo turkey tacos

I'm gonna share how to make the buffalo turkey tacos because they are so damn good. Brown up and drain a pound of 93/7 turkey meat, toss it in Frank's Red Hot, fill in whole wheat tortillas with some light blue cheese dressing or blue cheese crumbles and lettuce. Fast, easy, low-fat, delish.

Day 8/9- This $h!+ is BANANAS!

Monday night was Spaghetti Warehouse turned into all night beer binge at the Flying Saucer for Callie. Ryan was a good daddy and stayed home and did his Insanity.

Monday- Callie Food Log

B: nada
S: double tree cookie
L: cuban sandwich from which wich
D: chicken mushroom artichoke spaghetti, glass wine, about 50 beers

All in all I give myself a D+ for Monday's eats and an F for exercise. Unless you count walking to and from the Flying Saucer as exercise.

Monday- Ryan Food Log

B/S/L/D: homemade chili. one serving.

Ryan gets a C- for food because, although he ate pretty much nothing, at least it wasn't bad food and a ton of booze.

Ryan did the Cardio Power and Resistance workout.

Tuesday- Callie Food Log

B: nothing, again... bad plan
S: a few triscuits (thanks Katy!)
L: greek chicken salad
D: leftover greek chicken salad

I get a B- today for skipping breakfast.

Tuesday- Ryan Food Log

B: orange
L: 2 chicken lettuce wraps
S: 5 girl scout cookies
D: a dozen hot barbecue wings and fries, one mich ultra

Ryan gets a C+, it started good but kinda all went downhill after lunch. He says he thinks he's getting much more conscious about portion sizes and healthy food options. His biggest difference workout-wise is that he has increased stamina and can "dig deeper" as the workout progresses.

Tonight's workout was Pure Cardio. It's kind of a beatdown. Your heartrate is just jacked up for 20 minutes at a time without rest and it can really take a toll on you. Just gotta keep plugging away I suppose!

Day 5/6/7- Double Time

Hello all!

Friday and Saturday were tough for Ryan and I. Friday I left for Dallas right after work and didn't get back home until late Saturday night. Ryan decided to take a sabbatical as well so that means today is going to be...

DOUBLE INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we're going to do two of the workouts we missed today- Pure Cardio this morning, and the Plyometric Cardio Circuit again tonight. I'm sure we'll be regretting this decision tomorrow but we have to catch up.

Food choices for me were pretty bad Friday, not too bad yesterday. I tend to let myself splurge a little on the weekends so I don't feel too terribly bad.

Ryan had raisin bran, fried chicken and an entire bag of tortellini on Friday. Saturday he had a sandwich from Central Market, a bunch of beer, and a bucket of steamed seafood at Joe's Crab Shack for dinner.

I will post specific food logs for today now that we're back on the wagon. Will update later!

Day 3/4- DrunkSanity

Day 3 was a rest day for Mr. Skelly and I. Besides the fact that I could barely walk, we had company over and I drank a bottle of wine.

Day 4 went as follows:

Callie Food Log

B: 2 clementines
L: 4 pieces of california roll and 4 chicken dumplings
D: lasagna, foccacia, side salad, small piece dessert, 2 glasses chianti

Ryan declined to comment on his food choices.

We came home from dinner slightly tipsy but decided we had to do our workout regardless. I gave up after about 10 minutes and feeling like the lasagna was about to come back up but Ryan, my little badass, completed it. I did some ab workouts on the side instead.

Need to find some more motivation tomorrow so I can "dig deep" and complete this thang. It's really hard... but I know it will get easier.

Day 2-Plyometric Cardio Circuit

My inner thighs are KILLIN from yesterday. Ryan's slightly sore. The plyometrics from today were really difficult. I would say at this point I'm able to complete about 66% of the amount of exercises they do. I can do them all.... just not as many. This was Ryan's third time to complete this particular section of the program and said he's able to do more than he was to begin with. (He did the program off and on for awhile before we started it together)

On to the eats!!

Callie Food Log

B: ezekiel toast with natural pb and honey
S: clementine and almonds
L: beef fajita, chips and salsa, a little rice, a little beans, you know how I do.
S2: chips and guacamole, a peep (hehe)
D: homemade lettuce cups with spicy asian chicken stir fry (delish if anyone wants the recipe!)

Ryan Food Log

B: clementine, two cheese danishes
L: tuna melt on ezekiel bread with bacon
S: another cheese danish, ha
D: lettuce cups

I feel good about my food decisions but Ryan feels like he eats too much "okay food" and needs to control his portions a little better.

I decided I don't want to post our before pictures until the end when we are *hopefully* more improved... I'm too embarassed to stick 'em up just yet.

Until next time!!

Day 1- Fit Test

Callie Food Log:

B: organic yogurt and grapenuts
S1: clementine and one serving triscuits
L: homemade chili
S2: mini luna bar, clementine, choc chip cookie from the doubletree (if you've ever had one you know why I *had* to splurge)
D: tuna melt with light mayo, light cheese and ezekiel bread

side note: you will soon see that I snack a lot more than the Ry Skel.

Ryan Food Log:

B: clementine
S: 2 bite size kit kats
L: 2 slices papa john's pizza
D: homemade chili with cheese

Day One we had the FIT TEST. When you begin Insanity you do all their crazy workout moves, track how many you were able to do, and fit test again every two weeks until you're done to see how you've progressed. This is how we fared on day one:

(not sure why the blog is squishing our numbers together. I am html retarded so if anyone wants to help a sista out I'd greatly appreciate it!)

Fit Test Day 1

Ryan Callie
Switch Jacks 130 92
Power Jacks 58 37
Power Knees 79 84
Power Jumps 44 20
Suicide Jumps 12 4
Globe Jumps 8 8
Push Up Jacks 27 0
Low Plank Oblique 54 58

Ryan is pretty much awesome, I on the other hand have never been able to do a push-up to save my life. Maybe it's the crooked spine. Maybe I shouldn't use my crooked spine as an excuse anymore. Anywho, it's a start... I almost puked and passed out and I'm not quite sure I knew what I was getting myself into before starting this blog.

That's all for today, thanks to all who are following so far!! :)

OH OH OH P.S. We took before pictures and my camera died so I'll try and get those up tomorrow.
